Background and Research:

Ranjana’s current research focuses on studying the impact of the odd-even policy on traffic operations, car occupancy, and vehicle speeds. In addition, the policy’s influence on travel behavior is examined through the development of models. Its effects on congestion mitigation and pollution are also analyzed using summary statistics and various statistical techniques.

Motivation for Research:

I have always been eager to explore ways to contribute to building a better version of Delhi. When the odd-even policy was implemented in 2019, it presented a valuable opportunity to study whether such interventions could lead to meaningful improvements in congestion, pollution, mode choice, and improve traffic operations for commuters in the city.  With this, I realized the potential of data-driven analysis to evaluate the policy.
