Ankit’s current research focuses on understanding traffic flow dynamics and driver behaviour under adverse weather conditions, with a comparative perspective between heterogeneous traffic in India and homogeneous traffic in Australia. His work integrates video-derived trajectory analysis, NDS-GPS-based tracking, and loop detector data to assess how rainfall, foggy conditions, and extreme heat influence driving patterns. He is also involved in surrogate safety analysis using trajectory-level indicators to evaluate risk and instability across varying weather scenarios. Additionally, Ankit's research examines the influence of road geometry and driver demographics on critical driving behaviour.
