Background and Current Research

Maansi is currently exploring the gig economy, with particular emphasis on the supply chain network through the lens of delivery workers involved in food delivery, ride-hailing, and service providers. Her research aims to understand the working conditions of this vulnerable group, who are working on a "piece rate" or "task-based work" without a formal "employer-employee" relationship. She aims to investigate what are the health and road safety challenges these workers face in their daily work. Through this study, she aims to inform policy measures on improving the working conditions for delivery workers and advocating for more equitable and safe labor practices in the gig economy.

As part of her Master's program, she worked on a group project comparing Delhi Metro and BRTS users, examining how factors such as age, gender, income, infrastructure, cost, etc. influence individuals' choice of transportation mode.
