Background and Research:

Srishti's doctoral research aims to investigate infrastructure-related risk factors of bicyclist crashes in Delhi. To address her research question, she uses epidemiological methods such as case-control and case-crossover designs, conducts large-scale intercept surveys, including repeated measurements, and GPS-based data collection. Through her study, she intends to propose road design interventions to improve bicyclist safety in the city. Her work will also contribute methodologically to the emerging literature on epidemiological designs to assess traffic safety, by providing guidance to researchers on applying these approaches in data-poor settings of low- and middle-income countries. 

She has been awarded the esteemed Prime Minister Research Fellowship for her doctoral studies.

Prior to her PhD, she worked on two bicycling research projects at TRIP-Centre, with an interdisciplinary team comprising injury epidemiologists, anthropologists, and qualitative researchers, through which she acquired experience in mixed-method approaches - both quantitative and qualitative - and developed project management skills."
